Fourteen-Two-Fourteen.

A new definition of Valentine’s Day at the Lagos Business School.
Colourful. Wonderful. Eventful. Beautiful…. it was our “Throw-down Friday,” but of course never outside of the school’s dress code policy. We donned our blazers and suits still; but differently I must say.
Dresses and shoes of brilliant colours, guys turned out in bow ties and pocket squares…. mostly red!  Such bold patterns unusual for a corporate environment and out-of-the-way for a whole lot; but for the price set by the MBA Director, Dr. Nubi Achebo for the best dressed, we aimed to win! We will wear the colour(s) of love, if that is what it will take!
Guys and girls hugging gifts, (as was pre-planned and agreed in the MBA 11 class to exchange a little something). Wonderful moments, teary infact for some as it was completely unexpected.
An indeed good way to start the day, albeit we wished it was lecture and exam free.
We laughed. We hugged-longer than necessary for most people, especially for some guys who knew they would never be hugged by certain girls until say…graduation day (lol).
We shared gifts, strengthened our bond and made up; it was a good time to merry. After a long week of poring over cases, analysing and trying to internalise learning nuggets, we finally had a time to relax and be….’VALED’.
We’ve been struck by Cupid’s arrow. Temporarily or permanently? The next few weeks will tell. In the meantime, here is our picture story. Enjoy!
